Why Is Fluorine Rubber O-ring Suitable For Use On Vacuum Equipment

Mar 14, 2023|

Fluoro rubber O-rings are made from different materials and can be used in chemical resistant or vacuum equipment, for example. Not suitable for use with petroleum solvents, kerosene, or aromatic hydrocarbons. The general operating temperature range is - 50 ℃~110 ℃. ACM (Acrylic Acid Rubber) sealing rings have excellent resistance to oil, high temperature resistance, and weather resistance, but have slightly poor mechanical strength, compression deformation rate, and water resistance. Generally used in automotive transmission systems and power steering systems. Not recommended for use in hot water, brake oil, and phosphate esters. The general operating temperature range is - 25 ℃~170 ℃. Nr (natural rubber) sealing ring has excellent wear resistance, elasticity, tensile strength, and elongation. However, it is easy to age in the air, become sticky when exposed to heat, and expand and dissolve in mineral oil or gasoline. It is alkali resistant but not resistant to strong acids. It can be used in automotive oil, ethanol, and other solutions containing hydrogen ions. The normal use temperature range is - 20 ℃ to 100 ℃.

1. Pu (polyurethane rubber) fluorine rubber O-ring polyurethane rubber has excellent mechanical properties, superior to other rubbers in terms of wear resistance and high pressure resistance. It has good aging resistance, odor and itching resistance, and oil resistance, but is easily hydrolyzed when exposed to high temperatures. Suitable for high pressure and wear resistant sealing links, such as hydraulic cylinders. The general operating temperature range is - 45 ℃~90 ℃.

2. FFKM (perfluorocarbon rubber) fluororubber O-ring has excellent chemical corrosion resistance, and is resistant to most known chemicals such as acids, alkalis, ketones, esters, ethers, and strong itching agents. The maximum heat resistance can reach 300 ℃. Usually used to solve sealing problems in complex environments, the price is nearly a hundred times higher than that of ordinary rubber materials, which is very expensive. Of course, the sealing effect is good, and it can be used in very strict environments, which is irreplaceable. Not suitable for use in ketones, low molecular weight esters, and mixtures containing nitrates. Normal operating temperature range: - 20 ℃~220 ℃

3. FLS (Fluorosilicone Rubber) Fluorosilicon O-ring has the advantages of both fluoro rubber and silicone rubber, and has excellent resistance to oil, solvent, fuel oil, and high and low temperatures. Resistant to attack by itchy compounds, aromatic solvents, and chlorinated solvents. It can be used for aerospace and military purposes. Not suitable for exposure to ketones and brake oil. The general operating temperature range is - 50 ℃ to 200 ℃.

4. EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) fluororubber O-ring has excellent weather resistance, odor and itching resistance, water resistance, and chemical resistance. Suitable for alcohols and ketones, as well as sealing in high-temperature water vapor environments. Suitable for use in sanitary equipment, automotive radiators, and automotive brake systems. Not suitable for food use or exposure to mineral oils. The general operating temperature range is - 55 ℃~150 ℃

5. CR (chloroprene rubber) fluorine rubber O-ring has excellent sun and weather resistance. It can be used in refrigerants such as dichlorodifluoromethane and ammonia, and is resistant to dilute acids and silicone grease based lubricating oils, but has a large expansion capacity in mineral oils with low aniline points. It is easy to crystallize and harden at low temperatures. Suitable for various environments exposed to the atmosphere, sunlight, odor, and itching, as well as various flame and chemical resistant sealing links. Not suitable for use in strong acids, nitrohydrocarbons, esters, chloroform, and ketone based chemicals. The general operating temperature range is - 55 ℃~120 ℃.

6. IIR (butyl rubber) fluorine rubber O-ring has excellent air tightness, heat resistance, sunlight resistance, odor and itching resistance, and excellent insulation performance; It has good resistance to polar solvents such as alcohols, ketones, and esters, and can be exposed to animal and vegetable oils or itchy chemicals.
